Imran Khan apologized to the court.

 Pakistan's former prime minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has apologized in a case of contempt of court in the country. On Thursday (September 22), Imran Khan apologized to the court, his lawyer said. After his apology, the court adjourned the case. News Al Jazeera.


According to media reports, the case was filed after his comments about a woman judge at a rally in the capital Islamabad on August 20.


In the complaint, it was said that Imran Khan had threatened the police and judicial officials. The threat was made by Imran Khan after his close aide was not granted bail in a sedition case.


Under Pakistani law, Imran Khan would have been disqualified from holding public office for at least five years if found guilty of contempt of court.

Imran Khan appeared in the Islamabad High Court on Thursday and apologized at the start of the hearing. At that time, he told the court that he did not say anything for contempt of court. This will never happen in the future. I never wanted to hurt the court's feelings.


He requested the court to allow him to personally apologize to Judge Jaba Chowdhury.


However, IHC chief judge Athar Minallah said today that the court will not file a complaint against Imran Khan.


Imran Khan submitted an affidavit of his statement to the court. In this regard, Chief Justice Minallah said, the court evaluates your statement. You understand the importance of your statement.


Imran Khan's lawyer Faisal Chowdhury told the media that the court has adjourned the contempt case against Imran Khan.

He also said that the court has directed Imran Khan to submit an unconditional apology to the court in a written application by October 3.


On April 10, 2022, he was removed from the Prime Ministership after losing the no-confidence vote. Since then his party PTI has been protesting across the country demanding fresh elections.
