Iran launched a drone attack on Iraq, with many casualties.

Iran launched missile and drone attacks in northern Iraq. At least 9 people were killed and 32 others were injured. The number of casualties may rise. Iran's Revolutionary Guards have issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. AP news.


Iraq's northern Kurdistan region was rocked by several rounds of missile and drone attacks early Wednesday (September 28) local time. The attack was carried out in the capital of the region, Erbil and Sulaimaniyah.


When the injured were taken to the hospital, doctors said that the condition of some of them was critical. It is feared that the death toll may increase. Later, in a statement, Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed that a missile and drone attack had been carried out on a terrorist installation.

Iran has also warned that attacks will continue if "terrorism" continues in the region. The Revolutionary Guards claimed the attack after accusing Iranian armed Kurdish dissidents of involvement in ongoing protests over the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody in Iran.


In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq strongly condemned the Iranian missile and drone attack on Kurdistan. It has been reported that the ambassador of Iran will be summoned to complain about this.
