Russia ready to hold talks on Ukraine: Putin (Video)

President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to negotiate with all parties involved in the Ukraine conflict. However, the Russian president said that Kyiv and its Western supporters have refused to negotiate. Reuters news.


In an interview broadcast on Russian television on Sunday (December 25), Putin said, "We are ready to negotiate with everyone concerned about an acceptable solution." But the matter now depends on them, not on us.

Russia's attack on Ukraine on February 24 of this year triggered the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II and the biggest conflict between Moscow and the West since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Russia says it will fight until all its goals are achieved. Ukraine, on the other hand, has said it will not rest until every Russian soldier is expelled from all its territory, including Crimea, which was seized by Russia in 2014.

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Barnes said in an interview published this month that most conflicts end through negotiations, but the CIA's assessment is that Russia is not yet seriously ready to negotiate an end to the war.
